Last week I headed over to visit Summer Plum, owner of Felicitea.
I had heard of Area 15 in Uptown Charlotte prior to my visit, but this was the first time I was able to go through and see some of the shops and businesses! Summer invited me for an afternoon tea and I was excited, so of course I wanted to bring her some treats as well. I planned on baking mini lemon cakes, but out of nowhere I thought it might be fun to add honey to the lemon cupcakes to make them more “tea” inspired.
I’ve been playing around with different brands and styles of cupcake liners, parchments and papers, so I also made a batch of muffin size lemon honey cakes for my mom’s coworker at Dolce Lusso.

and we’re working on an “adult-beverage” tea with matching cupcake.
We may come up with more pairs & we’ll pick three to share with you next week.
The Honey-Lemon cupcakes were an amazing hit at the StartCLT Open House, gaining raved reviews, one person going so far as to call them “transcendent.”
