Happy Birthday, Dave!
Wine Bar owner Melanie asked me to make German Chocolate cupcakes for her man’s birthday, so I thought I’d get a little crafty with the fondant for his party at the wine bar.
Mini wine bottle and corks, brie and baguette, cork screw, cracker platter (grapes, olives, figs) and caramel beer mugs!
I had a wee bit of fun with my fondant-
and caramel beer mugs.
I didn’t want the fondant to get goopy on the German Chocolate Coconut Pecan Frosting so I rolled caramels.
Those are Southern Comfort dipped Pecan Pralines… and a light maple cream cheese frosting.
My husband is in love.
Brinn’s favorite ice cream is Neapolitan, so why not do it in cake form?
I’ve been so swamped with kid stuff and swim team and baking and cleaning and a bunch of other junk, that I haven’t had time to blog all my bullshit chatter or even post on the cake!
Per usual I’m playing catch up today, and cake overloads for you.
Bullshit will come later.
My girlfriend Lisa saw these and I figured I better get practicing some apple cupcakes for requests when school starts:
And another funny, Pizza Cupcakes
Eggs for breakfast? In the cake or on the cake, it’s all good.
Egg cupcakes (lemon cake, buttercream frosting, lemon curd filled)
So in my book What’s New, Cupcake?, they have a ton of super adorable decorating ideas. We were watching cupcake wars last week and one baker submit this cute idea, and we decided to make them for a Father’s Day picnic get together Sunday:
Happy Father’s Day to my super husband!
