We had our largest store order to date this week, and it was actually a breeze. A division of CMC is celebrating some newly created software that’s being implemented. Apparently it was a ton of blood, sweat and tears to get it done and the event was to say ”thanks” for all of their hard work upon it’s completion. The picture above is only roughly half of the cupcakes. The table items were supplied by their caterers for us to use so it’s not set as pretty as I’d like, but the toppers that Adria from Anders Ruff designed for me using the new Carolina leaf logo were perfect! We are so hopefully that we’ll start getting some more corporate orders. (and maybe next time have some say in the set up!)

Cupcake Wars. On Food Network. Pinch Me.
I was sitting at my desk when the phone rang. It was almost time to close.
I screamed. The girls heard me scream and they started to scream. And that was it. It’s a little hard to believe that they called. When we did the first CCW video and applied for Season 2, I was shocked how far I got through the interview process-even though I was baking from home still and building the shop. But when they called and asked if we would be interested in Season 3…I was definitely SHOCKED. I still find it hard to believe we did it, it’s so crazy to me. It’s even crazier that we won, after all of the insanity with Debbie blowing up the kitchen with fire, then the Sweet Tea cupcake debacle….
When I watched the episode it was like an out of body experience, like I was watching someone I “knew”, but not really “getting” that it was us.
Kind of insane.
And the shop went crazy for a few weeks. I actually cried a few times because I was so stressed out at first. I barely saw my family, I barely had time to shave my legs in the shower, the pressure was crazy.
For the most part, people were so wonderful about the show. We’d laugh at ourselves while they told us they were sure we were getting kicked off or that they just knew that we won or whatever they were thinking while watching.
Things are calm again and back to normal. Whatever normal is. I do know that I was able to make dinner a few times over the past two weeks for the first time in months and actually spend some time with my kids!
As for the winnings….EVERYONE asks what we did with the money. And those people know we did not get boob jobs. We did buy a used 30 quart Hobart (we were still trying to make all of that frosting on little kitchenaids, 2 which blew up!) and I’m taking Debbie to Disney World.
Yep, it’s true. If you saw the episode, you watched us compete against Bobby and Jose from Nantucket. Well, we are going to their wedding in Disney World this November and we’re super pumped about it! I will be sure to post all about it, but for now, here are the pictures from Cupcrazed’s 5 day California Tour.

Cupcrazed in Creative Loafing
Posted by Rhiannon Fionn who is amazing and fabulous. :)
And thank you.
Cupcake Push Pops are a HUGE success!
People are loving these! They’re fun, easy, and cut down on messes. We started making them a month ago, and just made a huge order for a birthday pool party-the mom wanted to be mess free (seeing as it’s 90 degreese lately!), brilliant.
Deb and I even made a video…
