Where am I and what am I doing?

I’m trying not to totally lose my mind. Why in the hell are my kids not back in school yet, because it has felt like summer  F O R E V E R! The business side of my life has taken over everything else, so I have to re-learn how to juggle “work,” without forgetting the laundry. Or the kids. I know that once school starts up I will have more time to figure out how to organized my time, but right now I’m a raging mess of attention deficit.

So um, what have I been doing.

The bakery is still in the architectural phase, I’m praying that this week we can get the plans to contractors and get the bids back quickly–really, this portion should be over and done with. I can’t purchase things. So I wait.

It’s comparable to a first trimester pregnancy, with a raging case of morning sickness where you pray to get over the hump, but the minutes feel like hours.

We are still watching the caterpillar. I know you are all waiting with baited breath for the updates on “Troopa the swallowtail” (Brinn named it) and you’re just too shy to comment about it. I’ll post the pictures when the chrysalis changes colors becuse as of this morning, he still looked like a green goober with horns.

Um, I had to put Circe on a diet. Girlfriend has eaten so many cake crumbs lately that she looks like a hairy, bloated balloon.

We had another nice plug in the Fort Mill Times for the 400 mini cupcakes for Miller Street Dance Studio’s birthday bash! Linky Lou HERE and here is the pic Jenny O’s took ;)

And as you probably know, I’ve been a Cupcakes Take the Cake stalker for five years now. I found the site when I was pregnant with Brinn and wanted  C A K E– so when they liked my cupcakes the first time, I about had a heart attack. Well, they liked a few more this weekend :) Cupcakes Take The Cake Link

As for cupcakes, I’ve been good about posting on the business facebook page but crappy over here on my blog because I am SUGAR BOMBED. It started with 250 wedding cake pops, and turned into almost five hundred cake pops- NO JOKE. For reference purposes:

This was HALF of them

OH-And a giveaway on facebook, too. I’m still working on the logistics of that so I don’t break rules and get a fine. Because that would just suck.

Hopefully the WEBMASTER will have www.cupcrazed.com functional for me soon, too! (hint hint, nudge nudge)

;)

Anyhoser, that’s where we’re at. I’m all over the place, not sleeping, definitely drinking, and always baking.

cupcakes and martinis event last night!

The turn out was INSANE and totally awesome!

The cupcakes? Gone.

The cake pops? G O N E!

It was so much fun, and thanks to Lorie Lower and all of the girls at Nest Furnishings for letting all of us come crash your place!

If you’ve never been into her shop, you are totally missing out. She has the cutest stuff ever and the prices are amazing. I had my eye on a chandelier all night, I wanted to buy it up to put in the bakery.

SOLD! UGH! I was so jealous someone else got it!

Anyway, check out her site!

Crazy busy week and we’re in the newspaper!

I just got back from dropping Miss Maeve at camp in Virginia and things have been going about 100 mph. I’ve already gotten through round 1 with my architect on a floor plan which might be done as early as Monday, found someone to do the signage, and most importantly to me- someone wants to watch my children! My biggest worry through all of this has been my 2 little ones and keeping their schedules as normal as possible once we’re open.

I blogged, whined, I cried a few times, then my phone rang. Big. Sigh. Of. Relief!!

And even more exciting? Our opening made the newspaper ALREADY! Holy Crap- Here is the article, and thanks to Jenny Overman and the Fort Mill Times, you are wonderful!!
