Inside Cupcrazed: Bakery shop pictures
I am kicking myself that I didn’t take before pictures of our furniture because seriously, it was a wee bit scary. I bought all of the furniture from Sleepy Poet Antique Mall, Gibson Mill Antique Mall, and the Metrolina Expo. I bought some seriously hideous and ugly stuff, but I knew it had potential.
We cleaned it, fixed it, painted it and here is what I got:
That orange table was SCARY. Broken. Ugly. Nasty. Spider ball filled hotel.

it’s amazing what cleaning it and some paint can do! My girlfriend recovered the seats with fabric we picked up at Mary Jo’s.

Our window seat and lounging area. Seriously, that mantle is awesome but tying it to the top of my van with 2 strings of Christmas lights and zooming down I-77 was a wee bit frightening.

I found old doorknobs to use as purse/coat hooks in the restrooms.

This was a total blast to do, but don’t ask how much work. I bet it was WAY MORE than you think.
Cupcrazed Art Work, what you get with hot glue, scrapbook crap and sparkles.
Yep, it’s been over a month.
Over a month since I slept, cleaned my house, caught up on pretty much anything, spoke to some people, or watched my favorite shows.
Nothing I can say will justify what an incredibly GIGANTIC untertaking this was for me. But the bottom line is that the shop looks EXACTLY the way I wanted and today, one month since we opened, things are going incredibly well.
I’m home today, December 26th, it’s a snow day here in the Carolinas! It’s the first white Christmas since 1947, so I have a little bit of time to upload, update, take down Xmas stuff, put away gifts, and clean here, then the shop. So I’m going to start a quick update, cuz who knows when I will have a block of time to sit on my ass and relax.
I’ll start with the artwork I made for the shop.
Dude, I love hot glue. I’m not a scrapbooker, but I know how to ruin real artwork and make it my own in a hurry. One night last year while watching Mad Men Reruns, I told Bob it would be funny to take the Mad Men poster/logo and photoshop out the cigarette and replace it with a cupcake. I’m not so slick on photoshop but hand me some glue, posters on sale, and I’m good to go.
Literally.
And unlike most cupcake places I find online, I like to share our shop pictures. I don’t get that whole secretive thing, what are you hiding? Stupid stuff if you ask me. Then again, we’re funny and a little passive aggressive, oh and sorta awesome so anyway.
Here’s the artwork and some funny stuff:
