There’s no place like home…Brinn’s Dorothy Costume

Brinn is obsessed with the Wizard of Oz, and literally watches it everyday. (although she does ask me to fast forward through a couple of parts)
When we looked through the Chasing Fireflies catalog, she HAD to be Dorothy. I really though she was going to pick something more flashy, but then I realized how my three year old thinks….
sparkly shoes and a PUPPY. Yep, Toto had this outfit SOLD!

I bought her the shoes at Target. You see, Target has been carrying those sparkling holiday shoes for at LEAST eight years because Maeve had a pair every Christmas from the time she was 2 until she was 8. And she would wear them until the sparkles had worn clear off (sometime around March).
So Brinn and I headed over to Target to try the shoes on, and what should’ve been easy turned into World War III. Why?
Because she wanted the PINK shoes. Now, I could’ve just shrugged it off but of course I didn’t and told her that Dorothy only wears red.
“I don’t care! *I* wanna wear the pink ones!”
Needless to say, I won.

But don’t think it didn’t come back to bite me in the ass.
“Brinn, put your glasses on, please”.
“No mom! Dorothy doesn’t wear no GLASSES!”
Burned by my 3 yr old….AGAIN.

Aww…I was Dorothy in the 2nd grade. Mine was homemade, though…I don't remember if it was fabulous or not. Brinn looks so cute! :)
