My Vegas fundraiser was a huge success. This morning the yard sale brought in over $400 for the moms gone wild fund! My goal was to make $300, so I surpassed the expectation. Sweet. Maeve profited $22 in cash from the bake sale, however she and her girlfriend set off on a shopping spree at least 3x’s (deserting their bake station) and bought a bunch of crap, so she most likely made over $30.

We closed shop around 11:30, and decided to celebrate by taking the children to the Renaissance Festival. The kids love going every year, but Bob and I look forward to it as well!
(nerd alert, H.U.G.E LOTR fans, Yes, we love Tolkien….)

Who doesn’t love stuffing your face while walking around with beers and cider, while your kids roll around in the dirt sword fighting strangers? Or comedy acts that tell dirty jokes your kids can hear, but they have no idea “what” they heard thanks to speaking Ren faire/Elizabethan style.

You laugh at all of the regular Joe Sixpacks strutting around in their own (or even funnier the RENTED) period outfits.

We got there and even before entering, the too cool teens blew us off. Ahh, freshman.

For Bob and I, first things first. We grab beers. My #1 reason for loving the R.F, they sell Newcastle. Newcastle in my humble opinion, is the world’s best beer. I don’t love beer, but I love a Newcastle, Or three… Bob is a huge fan of the pumpkin ale. So we grabbed some drinks, and set off to find food. We devoured a turkey leg (yummy), corn on the cob, and the girls shared a bread bowl of broccoli soup.

In order to keep Brinn in her stroller, we decided it would be a grand idea to get a carmel apple, and she picked one covered in m&ms. I highly recommend this for any scheming parent who cannot get their toddler contained to the stroller. The apple was ridiculously large, and they are not easy to eat slathered in carmel and candy so it kept her occupied for at least 30 minutes. Brilliant.

With kids, you know you’ll have to drop cash on strange and impractical items. Maeve got a pixie pouch full of dust, and blown glass bottle on a string full of sparkles. Brinn wanted an adorable princess style Juliet cap. The boys of course, are at an age where it isn’t cool to buy anything. (but you know they totally thought the swords were impressive)

On the way out we decided we better eat again, and shared a portabello mushroom and sweet pepper sandwich (with basil, cheese, DELISH) and the girls got some cherry Italian ice. (oxyclean)

My fairy goddess, she loved these wings….but they cost $52!!!! AHH! I can make her a pair out of a wire hanger (snicker snicker), glitter and some old nylons for free.

Bedtime tonight was 7:15. Fan freaking tastic!
