How can a baby be so developed….

this early?
The only time I had an early ultrasound during my first 3 pregnancies was Bryce’s. It was the only ultrasound I was given, to date the pregnancy. I was 12 weeks along, so of course he looked like a peanut in the midst of television static. Certain angles made him look like an alien that I saw on the Twilight Zone plenty of times before.
So when I was encouraged to do multiple genetic tests for this pregnancy, I found out one of them would be done with ultrasound. Awesome!
So she’s looking, analyzing, and there it is. My fuzzy peanut/slash/ X-files alien. I love it already!
I know my dr’s office it pretty awesome, so I asked the tech, “could you flip it to 3d for me?” she hesitated and said, “well, okay but don’t be nervous if it looks like a shrimp and not a baby, k?” Whatever, just show me!!! And THIS was what I saw!
Tiny feet! Ears! Hands! OMG, and this is how baby got the name Frances the Fetus, baby is praying in that 2nd shot. I am pretty sure it’s smiling too….;)
They bumped up my due date to 5.16.08, baby was measuring 13 weeks. Bonus!

Ok, that top shot of Shaye is almost the exact same shot that I had today. The little aliens look like twins!
    Haha!!
